At Equestrio Foundation, we work to preserve the environment and protect animals through two fundamental pillars: the financing of projects in the field and the promotion of the causes we support. Action and awareness raising – more than ever, we are convinced that beyond doing good deeds, informing as many people as possible about tomorrow’s issues is key to inspiring change at the source.
Our 5 goals for awareness-raising
We protect what we love, and we love what we know well. It’s by learning to understand nature that the desire to protect it blossoms and grows stronger. That’s what we’re here for too!
Goal 1: Promoting the actions of our partner associations
Equestrio Foundation supports medium-sized associations that rarely have the means to make the general public aware of the importance of their work. Beyond financial support, our aim is to give maximum exposure to their causes and their work in the field.
Goal 2: Educating as many people as possible
Climate change, plastic pollution, deforestation, loss of biodiversity… we’ve all heard about the crucial issues threatening our planet. But do we really realize the scale of what lies ahead? Through our campaigns, we aim to make these issues more tangible, and to turn the sometimes too timid awareness into a desire for immediate action.
Goal 3: Sharing solutions
If there’s a problem, there’s a solution. And when it comes to the environment, humans are both part of the problem AND part of the solution. Our aim is to remind people that we can all take action, at our own level, by adopting more sustainable behavior and supporting those who are fighting for our common future. Opting for sustainable mobility, adapting our eating habits, consuming differently, taking part in waste collection operations… there are a multitude of solutions out there just within our reach, and we’re sharing them with you.
Goal 4: Mobilizing
Raising awareness also means inspiring. Through our images and stories, we aim to convince as many people as possible to embrace this collective energy for change. Whether it’s through citizen mobilization, participation in local environmental initiatives or small, everyday acts… it’s by joining forces and becoming active players in these essential changes that we will turn the tide.
Goal 5: Connecting people
You are eager to take action, but don’t know how or where? By promoting the initiatives of our partners and the people who uphold them, we aim to encourage synergies and build bridges locally between those who make change happen.

Photo reports
For each project we finance, we produce a photo or video report directed by committed professionals who highlight the causes upheld by the project leaders. We owe this to Alicia Heiniger, our founder. Driven by the desire to combine her passion for animals and for photography, she was eager to offer as many people as possible the chance to immerse themselves in an authentic visual experience with nature.
Equestrio Foundation in “Action” web series
Launched in 2023, “EF in Action” reflects our desire to take concrete action in the field and to forge close ties with our partner associations. This web series, shot during volunteer days, takes you on an unfiltered journey with Alicia Heiniger into the heart of the reality of those who make action a way of life.
High impact campaigns
Through our campaigns on social networks, we strive to raise awareness through educational content on the major sustainable development challenges. Wake-up calls, key facts, tips and perks, favorites …we stay close to our community so that we can move forward together, with passion and optimism.
Events
Giving voice to our causes also means providing a forum for the experts who promote them. Debates, events on key issues, participation in field operations… our foundation forges partnerships with leading players on issues close to our hearts, such as the protection of the Amazon in collaboration with the Watatakalu Yawalapiti and Tapi chiefs, plastic pollution with On est Prêt or the protection of the waters of Lake Geneva with ASL.
Taking action at the source
Today, no one can overlook the urgent need to protect the future. However, despite the increased and wider spread awareness, we must continue the fight and carry on raising our voices to turn this momentum into concrete action.
It’s not just a matter of repairing our planet. It’s above all about stopping destroying it. We need to take action at the source. Collecting plastic in nature is a good thing. Not throwing it away, or not producing it, is even better! Through our awareness-raising actions, our goal is to bring about a shift in mindsets and behavior that is within everyone’s reach.
